O'Sullivan leads Brecel 6-2 in World snooker quarter-final
LONDON (AFP) - Title-holder Ronnie O'Sullivan overcame a slow start to secure a 6-2 lead at the end of the first session in his world snooker championship quarter-final against Luca Brecel on Tuesday.
O'Sullivan fell 2-1 behind after an impressive opening by his Belgian opponent but fought back before moving clear with a break of 128 in the sixth frame at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre.
The 47-year-old Englishman, bidding to win a modern-day record eighth world title, will need seven more frames when play resumes later Tuesday to book a semi-final with either Anthony McGill or Si Jiahui.
