Only threat to country is our fragile economy, says Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the only threat to the country is the fragile economy.

Expressing his views in the National Assembly on Wednesday, he said that the tax evaders are also present in the parliament. "What is the judiciary doing with the country? It should also hold itself accountable. After the retirement, they get about 90 percent of the salary as pension in addition to five employees for each retiring judge," he declared.

The minister said that the judiciary, bureaucracy and government's incompetence are reasons behind the deteriorating economic condition of the country. "Those coming to eliminate poverty are eliminating their poverty. Mafias were protected during the last four years," he maintained.

He said that the common man is unable to survive due to inflation. "A man tried to take the state hostage after losing his power. He is challenging the writ of the state. On May 9, the miscreants attacked the institutions that are considered as assets of the country.

"Extreme hatred was shown by vandalizing the monuments of the martyrs. The PTI chairman is terming it a pre-planned conspiracy. This snake was reared with milk and now he says there was a conspiracy against me. About 3,200 miscreants have been identified," he added.
