PCB, FIA to jointly investigate PSL spot fixing case: Sources

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) will jointly hold the investigations against the cricketers involved in Pakistan Super League (PSL) spot fixing case. 

There is a rift between PCB and FIA on who who carry out the investigations but according to sources, both the authorities would hold investigation together while information would also be exchanged.

The PCB would take action against the cricketers according to disciplinary code while FIA would carry out criminal proceedings.

The PCB has asked the FIA for the record of eight phones of the four cricketers accused of spot fixing.

The PCB has also decided to inform the FIA over the concerns regarding investigation.

According to the board, the FIA cannot investigate criminal cases without civil plaintiff. “On whose complaint was the statements of the suspended cricketers recorded?” the board asked.
