LAHORE (92 News) - FIA Central Court Judge Bakht Fakhar Bahzad acquitted Suleman Shehbaz, son of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and other accused in the money laundering case on Monday.

Suleman Shehbaz appeared before the court and submitted replies to 27 questions.

The court asked about the record of former adviser Shahzad Akbar, admonishing the FIA counsel for holding a deceased person responsible for it.

Talking to the media after the verdict, Suleman Shehbaz said that today the court had acquitted them. "The previous government did nothing except constituting false case against rivals on the basis of political revenge," he added.

He said that the UK paper had also tendered an apology for false reporting against them.

In November 2020, the FIA had registered a case against PM Shehbaz Shehbaz and his sons Hamza and Suleman under sections 419, 420, 468, 471, 34 and 109 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, read with Sections 3/4 of the Anti Money Laundering Act.
