PM wants to use unused properties in productive manner

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan wanted to use the unused properties of institutions and ministries worth billions of rupees in a productive manner for the welfare of the people. The prime minister expressed his commitment during a meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday. He also said the money earned from the unused properties will be spent on the welfare of the masses and improvement of basic facilities such as schools, colleges and hospitals. PM Khan pointed out that different departments of the federal government are facing losses of billions of rupees on annual basis regardless of the fact that they own these properties. He said a criminal negligence was meted out in the past by not using these properties. The premier categorically stated that strict action will be taken against the officials who will not identify the unusable properties or create hurdles in their proper utilization. Earlier, PM Imran Khan has reiterated that fighting organized crime including corruption, cybercrime, economic crime, money laundering and across the board accountability is the top agenda of government. The prime minister stated on Monday during a meeting with newly-appointed Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director-General Wajid Zia and Special Assistant on Accountability Shahzad Akbar. During the meeting, the FIA director general assured the prime minister that he would do his best to serve the country with commitment. Wajid Zia, who led a joint investigation team (JIT) in Panama case against the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, was appointed as FIA DG on November 29. The change was made during a reshuffle in the federal bureaucracy on Friday, which also witnessed the appointment of BPS-22 officer from Police Service Mushtaq Mehar as Inspector General (IG) Pakistan Railways, a post held by Zia before the reshuffle.
