Emphasizes on creating awareness about fighting virus
Arif Alvi emphasized on creating awareness about fighting the virus. He said media and religious leaders should come forward to cope with this challenge. He said that any person suffering from fever should immediately use mask, while other people should make it habit to wash their hands with soap every one hour, and cover their mouth during coughing. Earlier, all the dignitaries who visited China recently have tested negative for coronavirus. A delegation led by President Dr Arif Alvi had visited China on two-day tour on March 16 and 17. The delegation included Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Minister for Planning Asad Umar. China has in principle informed the Pakistan Foreign Ministry in this regard. Before their departure to China, they underwent the coronavirus tests which remained negative. Upon his arrival, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had announced self-isolation. Talking to the media, the minister revealed that he was going into self-isolated quarantine after concluding his recent trip to China. “I will quarantine myself for five days and then will go for the necessary tests related to the coronavirus.” He also maintained that the coronavirus will not be detrimental to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the project will continue to flourish with the same vigour as in the past.
