ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Ex-Servicemen Society Lt Gen (retd) Abdul Qayyum has said that the provincial assembly’s resolution against the Operation Azm-e-Pakistan is regrettable.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, he said that the incidents of terrorism were increasing in Pakistan. “America left a terrorist for us while leaving Afghanistan. The act of leaving weapons behind is aimed at reducing the power of China,” he added.

He said that there was no security system on the border from the Afghanistan side. “We cannot afford another opponent neighbour in the presence of India,” he added.

Lt Gen (retd) Abdul Qayyum said that the people are being misled by spreading fake news. “All people including the military leadership should sit together to strengthen sovereignty of the country,” he added.

He demanded that the minimum pension for the relatives and widows of the martyrs should be fixed at Rs37,000 per month.
