SC dismisses PTI chairman's plea for stopping trial of Toshakhana case

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the plea filed by the PTI chairman for stopping the trial of the Toshakhana case.

Dismissing the plea, Justice Yahya Afridi remarked that it was not appropriate to interfere in the proceedings of the trial court. "The court will issue an appropriate order if the High Court order is challenged," he observed.

He requested the Islamabad High Court to simultaneously decide the appeals filed by the PTI chairman.

Justice Musarrat Hilali observed that the matter was being sent to the High Court and said that how they could stop the trial.

On Tuesday, Additional District and Sessions Judge Hamayun Dilawar had summoned the PTI chairman for recording his statement under section-342 as the cross-examination of two prosecution witness was completed in the Toshakhana criminal case.
