ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court on Monday reserved the verdict on the Review of Judgments and Orders Act 2023.

During the hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial remarked that how the entire constitution can be ignored for a single constitutional matter.

"There should be a right to appeal under the Article 184. The option of right to the appeal should be given through the constitutional amendment. A new hearing cannot be held without any reason," he observed.

Justice Muneeb Akhtar remarked that how a three-member bench will hear the case against the verdict of a two-member bench.

The attorney general said that there are several judgments of the Supreme Court regarding the parliament's power of legislation.

"It is not discriminatory treatment to extend the review scope in the cases under Article 184. It is not the right impression of exploitation with some people by giving the right to the review appeal," he contended.
