SC to announce verdict on Review of Judgments & Orders Act 2023 today

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court will announce the verdict on the Review of Judgments and Orders Act 2023 case on Friday.

On June 19, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial had reserved the verdict. The federal government had objected to the bench by presenting the Review of Judgment Act in the Punjab elections case.

During the hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial had remarked that how the entire constitution can be ignored for a single constitutional matter. "There should be a right to appeal under the Article 184. The option of right to the appeal should be given through the constitutional amendment. A new hearing cannot be held without any reason," he observed.

Justice Muneeb Akhtar had remarked that how a three-member bench will hear the case against the verdict of a two-member bench.
