LAHORE (92 News) – Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has demanded a 10 percent increase in the salaries of the government employees. In a statement on Sunday, he said that the inflation had crossed all limits and refusal to increase in the salaries of government employees, especially low scale employees, under these circumstances is unacceptable. “The PML-N had increased the salaries of the government employees and given them other privileges, including the housing allowance, during its tenure,” he said. He questioned when the famers would be given the relief. “Where are the steps taken to stimulate the economic activity? Where are the development expenditures and projects? The steps taken to create jobs and reduce poverty are invisible,” he said. Shehbaz Sharif said that no programme had been launched to help the farmers. “The agriculture sector is facing a reduction of 2.9 percent. When will the farmers be given concessions?” He said that the government had badly failed in taking steps for farmers and the agriculture sector.
