Shopkeeper killed, 4 injured in groups’ clash in Karachi's New Sabzi Mandi

KARACHI (92 News) – A man was killed while four others injured in a clash between two groups in New Karachi Sabzi Mandi on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Saifur Rahman, a shopkeeper. The injured include Ismail and Ishaq. After the incident, violent people resorted to sabotage. They also pelted the police with stones when they tried to bring the situation under control. Owing to the tension, business activities were suspended. Traffic also remained standstill due to blockage of Super Highway. Long queues of vehicles were seen on the road. Later, Rangers reached the spot and controlled the situation. Relatives alleged that Saifur Rahman was killed for not giving extortion. SSP Malir Irfan Bahadur said that Momin and Bismillah, who were involved in the incident, have been arrested.
