SIFC's Apex Committee decides to remove hurdles in foreign investment

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday presided over a meeting of the Apex Committee of the Special Investment Facilitation Council.

Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and several high-ranking military officers attended the meeting.

The forum decided to remove the hurdles in the way of the foreign investment.

Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal said that the objective of the council is to bring direct foreign investment. "The previous government destroyed different institutions as well as China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)," he addded.

Ahsan Iqbal said that the government formed after 2018 had a negative agenda. "The CPEC project was a source of bringing investment amounting to US$28," he added.
