SJC postpones proceedings against Justice (retd) Mazahar Naqvi for indefinite period

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) on Friday postponed the proceedings against Justice (retd) Mazahar Naqvi for an indefinite period.

Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa presided over the meeting, while Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Mansoor Ali Shah were the members.

The council recorded the statements of more witnesses and decided not to summon Justice (retd) Mazahar Naqvi's sons as witnesses.

On the other hand, Justice (retd) Mazahar Naqvi wrote a letter to the council and declared the January 12 order illegal. He stated that the action against retired judges was not in the power of the council as per law, constitution and court judgments.
