ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar has said that two assemblies were sacrificed on the altar of a person's ego.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said that the caretaker set-up should conduct the elections simultaneously under the Article 224. "Those issuing 'fatwas' to satisfy their mind should look into their collar," he added.

He said that Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa jointly make 65 percent of the National Assembly. "The country will witness political stability if the elections are held simultaneously," he maintained.

Azam Nazeer Tarar said that the ECP had given a good decision. "The elections results can be affected if the elections are held separately."

The minister said that terrorists were rehabilitated during the previous government, which resulted into a new wave of terrorism.

He said that the security issue is the biggest one and it could not be ignored. "The ECP is an independent institution that can take a decision for transparency of the elections," he added.
