University students protest death of four students in Karachi

KARACHI (92 News) – The Students of Federal Urdu University of Arts Science and Technology (FUUAST) have on Friday took to the street over the death over the death of four varsity students. As per details, another student who was injured in a road accident last week succumbed to injuries. Yesterday, at least four persons, including three women, were killed while 9 others were injured in a bus accident on University Road in Karachi. The students blocked the road for traffic. Deputy Mayor Arshad Vohra, District East Deputy Commissioner, SP Gulshan, Sindh Minister for Transport Nasir Shah and others reached the spot to negotiate with the students. While demanding removal of University Vice Chancellor, the agitating students demand 20 dedicated buses for college. The protesters also demand compensation for deceased and injured students. The deputy mayor promises solution to students' problems in 10 days. The students call off protest after receiving assurance Sindh Minister for Transport Nasir Shah blamed accidents on drivers' negligence and speeding. He said that development works will be completed expeditiously.
