Work on uplift projects continuing despite limited resources: Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the work on the uplift projects is going on despite limited resources.

Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony of the Head Office Building of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) on Thursday, he said that they would have to remove the speed breakers on the way of progress. “Those spreading disappointment should keep in their minds that nothing will happen to the country,” he declared.

The DPM said that the PDM government had only one agenda – to save the country from being a defaulter.

Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that reforms were unavoidable to get rid of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). “The country is witnessing stability in macro-economic. Pakistan wants investment with friendly countries, not aid,” he added.

APP adds: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan has huge potential to join G-20 countries through structural reforms in the country’s economy.

“The government is fully committed to structural reforms in the country’s economy by capital market and corporate sector regulation for sustainable economic development,” he said.

He said that today is a very special day on the occasion of laying the foundation stone of Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) “I still remember that, “We have a huge journey for evolving capital market and corporate sector reforms in the economy from 2013 to 2017 in the country.”

Ishaq Dar said that Ease of Doing Business (EODB) was necessary for bringing the foreign direct investment to the country and for this SIFC’s role is pivotal.
