Zardari to be shifted Karachi’s hospital: Sherry Rehman
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Sherry Rehman confirmed that former president Asif Ali Zardari will be shifted the hospital of Karachi on Thursday.
The jail authorities released Zardari from PIMS, which had been declared a sub-jail. During the departure of PPP co-chairman from PIMS, the PPP workers raised slogans in favour of him. The security was alerted outside the hospital.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and his siter Aseefa Bhutto were also along with the former president when he left PIMS. Former premier Yousaf Raza Gillani and Raja Pervez Ashraf were also present on the occasion.
Sherry Rehman confirmed that the preparations have been completed to bring Zardari to Karachi from Islamabad. “Everyone knows that this is revenge not accountability,” she added.
It was also reported that the PPP co-chairman will be treated at a private hospital in Clifton, Karachi. Zardari is expected to reach Karachi tonight. Zardari's CT scan, angiography and angioplasty will be conducted at the hospital in Karachi. The former president is suffering from complications of the heart as well as other diseases.
A VIP room has been prepared for Zardari where he will be treated. A six-member medical board will oversee his treatment which will be headed by Professor Nadeem Qamar.
A day earlier, the bench comprising of Chief Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Aamer Farooq will hear the plea. The court also ordered to release him immediately after furnishing surety bonds worth Rs10 million. “Will the NAB oppose the bail plea of Asif Zardari?” questioned Justice Athar Minallah.
He remarked that why Asif Zardari had been detained in jail if the NAB is not investigating him. Meanwhile, the court adjourned the bail plea of Faryal Talpur till December 17.
Asif Zardari had filed a bail plea in the Islamabad High Court, seeking bail in the mega money laundering and Park Lane case.
He prayed to court to hear the plea and grant him bail on medical grounds today. The NAB and Accountability Court No 2 have been made the parties in the plea.
The former president stated that he was suffering from a cardiac disease and three stents were inserted in his heart. “I am also a diabetic and need permanent treatment to control the sugar level,” he contended. Asif Zardari’s medical reports have also been attached to the application.
