Another girl injured in ‘knife attack’ in Karachi
KARACHI (92 News) – Another girl was injured in an attacked by a sharp edge weapon in Karachi’s Azizabad on Tuesday after the provincial government claimed to have arrested the prime suspect in knife attacks.
The girl was going with her brother when an unidentified man riding a motorcycle attacked her from behind with sharp-edge weapon.
She was rushed to nearby hospital for medical assistance.
According to the investigation officer, the incident matches the earlier incidents of knife attack in Gulistan-e-Johar.
The officer said that the attacker was riding a red motorcycle and was wearing black helmet.
Earlier on Sunday, police claimed to have apprehended the prime suspect involved in more than a dozen incident of attacks on women in Karachi from Punjab’s Mandi Bahauddin area.
The law enforces shifted the arrested suspect to undisclosed location for further interrogation and preparations are being made to bring the suspect to Karachi.
Over a dozen women, including minor girls, have been injured in several knife attacks in parts of the city since September 26.
Initially, the attacker started carrying out attacks in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area, prompting authorities concerned to put the police force on high alert. But then such attacks also occurred in other parts of the city, putting a question mark on performance of police, who have several times claimed to have busted gang or networks of high-profile militant organizations or target killers.
