DSP Majeed Abbas shot dead in Karachi; PM seeks report
KARACHI (92 News) – In another ruthless incident of target killing of police officers, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Majeed Abbas was assassinated in an armed attack on his vehicle in SITE area on Tuesday.
According to reports, the incident took place in Shah Latif Town where unknown gunmen riding motorbikes fired shots at the DSP’s vehicle, leaving him and his driver critically injured in the car. He later succumbed to the wounds.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has sought a report from the Sindh government.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah took notice of the incident and sought report from IG Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali, directing him to ensure immediate arrest of the culprits.
Earlier in May, DSP Abdul Fateh of Bin Qasim area was killed in Gulshan-e-Hadeed area of Karachi.
