Anti-polio campaign continues in Karachi
KARACHI (92 News) – Despite yesterday’s terrorist attack in Karachi in which seven policemen were martyred, the anti-polio drive again started in Karachi on Thursday.
Police commandoes have been tasked with the security of polio workers as the law enforces expressed their resolve to ensure the safety of polio immunization teams despite the killings.
At least seven police personnel were killed when some unidentified armed assailants opened firing at police in Orangi Town’s Bangla Market on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack on police personnel and expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of lives. He further directed the authorities for investigation.
