Apex Committee meeting: Karachi operation to continue till its logical end
KARACHI (92 News) – Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon has said that Apex Committee had decided to continue targeted operation in Karachi against criminals till its logical end.
Talking to media after Apex Committee meeting, he said that operation will continue against the facilitators of terrorists.
Sharjeel Memon revealed that crime rate in Karachi significantly decreased due to targeted operation.
Information minister said that Sindh governor Dr Ishratul Ebad, Karachi Corps Commander Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar, DG Sindh Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar and Sindh Police IG Ghulam Haider Jamali were also present in the meeting.
He said that the Fitra collected forcibly and any sort of funding collected for terrorism will also be stopped. “We need public help in this regard,” he said.
“The National Action Plan also came under discussion, with official briefing in the meeting.”
He said that action will be accelerated against banned terrorists organizations and religious schools enticing people for terrorism.
The minister said that cases have been registered against the wrong use of loudspeakers.
Sharjeel Memon said that the committee decided to tighten noose against foreign agencies involved in destabilizing Pakistan. “Elements misused by foreign enemies will also be apprehended soon,” he said. “We will eliminate terrorism from Sindh.”
The minister said that PPP chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari congratulated armed forces over Zarb-e-Azb achievements.
He said that PPP chairman assured complete support for armed forces against terrorism. “Bilawal Bhutto paid tribute to the martyred soldiers,” he said.
Sharjeel Memon said that the ‘police-like powers’ Rangers have been extended for one month.
He said that efforts will be made to get the bill passed with majority for enhancing the powers of Rangers.
The minister said that Apex Committee has also formed a task force.
