Enemies of education are enemies of humanity, says PM Nawaz Sharif

PESHAWAR (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has on Wednesday said that the tragedy of Army Public School, which killed over 150 people including 135 children could never be forgotten.

Addressing the ceremony in connection with first anniversary of Army Public School tragedy in Peshawar on Wednesday, Nawaz Sharif said that the sacrifice of these children will not go waste.

He said that the country’s civilian and military leadership was on the same page following the tragedy, adding that the sacrifices of the children helped achieve successes in Operation Zarb-e-Azb. “The enemies of education are the enemies of humanity. Every nook and corner of the country will be made peaceful,” he said. 

The prime minister said that the Operation Zarb-e-Azb has broken the backbone of terrorists, adding that the terrorism will be eliminated. “He paid tributes to the armed forces for waging a valiant campaign against terrorism under the leadership of Army Chief General Raheel Sharif.”


The Prime Minister said the 16th December incident has united the whole nation and determined the future course for Pakistan. He announced to observe this day as the Day of National Resolve to promote Education. He said we have to eradicate the darkness of obscurantism and lay the foundation of Pakistan, depicting on love, affection and tolerance.

Nawaz Sharif said that the Government is determined to hand over a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan. “We have achieved many successes under the leadership of General Raheel Sharif,” he added.
