Armed assailants shot fire at Justice Ejazul Ahsan’s residence in Lahore
LAHORE (92 News) – Some unidentified armed assailants on Sunday opened fire at the house of Supreme Court judge Justice Ejazul Ahsan in Lahore.
The firing incident took place at the house of Justice Ejazul Ahsan in Lahore’s Model Town area last night and this morning. First, shots were fired last night and a similar occurrence took place early morning on Sunday.
Soon after the incident, law-enforcement agencies reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.
The bullet holes are spotted at the main gate of the residence and in the kitchen window.
The law enforces have also recovered bullet casings from the site of the shooting.
Following the incident, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar visited Justice Ejaz’s residence and called in the Inspector General Police Punjab to investigate the matter.
The CJP said he is monitoring the situation.
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and ordered the arrest of culprits behind the firing incident.
He also asked the Punjab inspector general (IG) to submit a report on the incident.
Shehbaz Sharif’s personal secretary, who visited the supreme court judge’s house to meet him, was refused a meeting by the SC administration.
Security personnel, including Rangers, have been deployed outside the residence of the judge.
Meanwhile, the senior judges of the apex court Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, Justice Sheikh Azmat and Justice Umer Atta Bandial have also reached the residence of Justice Ejazul Ahsan to review the situation.
