Army chief’s extension in the hands of government, says Yousaf Raza Gilani
RAHIM YAR KHAN (92 News) – Former prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has on Monday said that we were in a state of war during the Pakistan People’s Party tenure and the extension of army chief was according to the country’s situation but now the authority is in the hands of incumbent government.
Talking to media at the Urs of his grandfather Makdoom alMalik Ghulam Meeran Shah in Rahim Yar Khan, he said that the PPP has always been accused of corruption and we are in court on corruption charges.
He further said that the present government is pursing previous government’s policies, adding that the operation in South Waziristan is being conducted under the policies of PPP’s government.
Former prime minister said that they restored the 1973 constitution and strengthened all the institutions including Supreme Court.
