Army soldiers to take part in operation Zarb-e-Aahan
RAJANPUR (92 News) – Around 100 Pakistan Army soldiers have on Friday reached in Indus River area between Rajanpur and Rahim Yar Khan to take part in the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Aahan which continued for the last 18 days.
More than 1600 police personnel are taking part in the operation, only three members of the Chotu Gang has been killed so far, while 15 others injured. “The police launched the operation without concrete planning,” sources added.
A strike force with paratroops from Rangers would also take part in the joint operation along with regular policemen and commandos of the force.
The Chotu gang had kidnapped at least 25 policemen including two Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSPs) and warned the police officials of killing the hostages if the firing continued.
The operation intensified yesterday when the dacoits killed another four policemen and handed over the bodies to the authorities. The dacoits also handed over four injured policemen to representatives of police.
