Around 2533 terrorists detained in two-years, says Chaudhry Nisar
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has on Thursday said that as many as 2533 terrorists have been apprehended during the last two years.
The report on action taken against madarrassas under National Action Plan (NAP) was submitted in the National Assembly (NA).
Addressing the Upper House of the parliament, Chaudhry Nisar said that under NAP 55 terrorists have been arrested from Punjab, 897 from Sindh, 1068 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 193 from Balochistan, 42 from Islamabad, 206 from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and 72 from Gilgit, while 7 terrorists from Punjab, 635 from KP, 43 from Balochistan and 41 from Gilgit-Baltistan have been released.
Speaking during question hour in the National Assembly, Minister of State for Interior Muhammad Balighur Rehman said the National Action Plan is comprehensive and all-encompassing document aimed at eliminating terrorism, extremism and militancy in all its forms and manifestations.
He said that the main thrust of the NAP is zero tolerance for terrorist organizations and individuals; their financers and sympathizers and addressing the roots of terrorism through long-term measures.
