More arrest to be made over May 12 tragedy, says SSP Rao Anwar
KARACHI (92 News) – Following the interrogation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader and Karachi’s designated Mayor Waseem Akhtar, Police have decided to expand the investigation into the May 12 tragedy.
Talking to media, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Rao Anwar said that the Karachi’s designated Mayor was arrested in treason case for investigation of criminal activities and contacts abroad after the court cancelled Waseem Akhtar’s bail in terrorists’ facilitation case.
He said that a committee led by SSP Investigation Malik Altaf was formed against the accused and the MQM leader was probed in May 12 tragedy case by the committee.
The SSP Malir said that during the interrogation more names have been disclosed and more arrests would be made in May 12 tragedy case soon.
He said that the police is searching for MQM’s two members provincial assembly Kamran Farooqi and Adnan Ahmad.
