More arrested in police crackdown on protesting doctors in Peshawar
PESHAWAR (92 News) – Police have on Wednesday again launched crackdown against representatives of Young Doctors Association (YDA) and arrested several doctors at Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar.
As per details, police resorted to baton charge on young doctors, when they tried to get out-patient department (OPD) and different wards of the hospital closed forcefully.
Several protesting doctors sustained severe injuries in the scuffle while several were also taken into custody for hyping violence.
The protesting doctors said that they would continue to protest against the amendment in Medical Officer Act, privatization of hospitals and dissolution of PGMI.
