Asma Murder Case: SC summons Fawad Ch on Feb 21
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) has on Tuesday summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesman Fawad Chaudhry to witnesses how exemplary the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police is after the it failed to arrest the culprits in the murder cases of minor four-year-old girl in Mardan and medical student in Kohat in the next hearing on February 21.
A three member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the suo motu case of the Asma Rani murder in Kohat.
During the proceedings, the CJP expressed anger over the performance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police for not being able to arrest the suspect in the murder of the medical student.
Justice Mian Saqib Nisar remarked that PTI spokesman Fawad Chaudhary criticized the police of other provinces while applauding the force of the province.
The CJP while giving the KP police two-week time to ensure the arrest of the culprit behind the murder of Asma, adjourned the hearing till February 21.
Earlier, Asma Rani, the third year student of Abbottabad Medical College was heading towards her house along with her sister-in-law when accused Mujahid along with his accomplice opened firing, due to which Asma received bullet injuries.
She was rushed to hospital where she later succumbed to her wounds. Asma had come home to meet her family in Kohat during session break.
The slain medical college student revealed the name of her attacker moments before she succumbed to her wounds. “Mujahid Afridi, Mujahid Afridi,” Aasma was heard saying.
