RAWALPINDI (92 News) – An accountability court exempted former president and co-chairperson of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari from appearing before court in a reference relating to his assets on account of security risks on Thursday.

The former president appeared before the court amid tight security and pleaded to exempt him as he won’t be able to come to court on regular basis due to security reasons. The court, after hearing the arguments of the accused, granted him exemption from appearing in a court in assets reference case and adjourned the hearing till June 2.

Earlier, the court extended the date of hearing for the case twice due to Asif Ali Zardari’s inability to appear before the court.
