ATC acquits MQM leader Tahir Mashhadi; extends Rauf Siddiqui’s bail
KARACHI (92 News) – The Anti-Terrorism Court has on Friday acquitted Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Senator Tahir Mashhadi in treason and terrorism case, while extended the bail of Rauf Siddique’s until February 2.
The MQM leader Tahir Mashhadi was charged with facilitating party chief’s hate speech.
Earlier, police presented a report before the court that Tahir Mashhadi’s presence during the speech has not been proved, therefore, he be released from custody. The court reviewed the report and gave the decision in favor of the MQM leader.
The court further ordered the investigation officer to present a report pertaining to the arrest of nominated accused MQM chief Altaf Hussain and Haider Abbas Rizvi in the case.
On the other hand, the court extended the bail of party leader Rauf Siddique until February 2.
