ATC sentences former ASWJ Rawalpindi president Mufti Tanveer to six months in prison
RAWALPINDI (92 News) – An Anti-Terrorism Court has on Monday sentenced former Ahle-Sunnat-wal-Jamaat (ASWJ) Rawalpindi president Mufti Tanveer to six months in prison for hate speech.
During the hearing, ATC judge Asif Majeed Awan awarded punishment to the accused ASWJ Rawalpindi president.
The ASWJ leader was arrested by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) earlier this year.
The CTD had registered an FIR against the accused under Section 9 of the Anti-Terrorism Act against Tanveer for hate speech on April 28.
