Azadi March: Top opposition leaders likely to be detained if talks fail

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The federal government will review to detain the top leadership of opposition parties if the talks regarding ‘Azadi March’ of JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman fail.

According to the details garnered, the opposition parties will meet today to discuss the matters regarding protest. The Rehbar Committee of opposition parties has been summoned today on immediate base for discussing the negotiation with the government.

During the meeting, the terms and condition and demands of talks with the government will also be discussed. They will also decide to strategy about the talks with government over Azadi March.

On the other hand, the federal government announced not to discuss about resignation of Prime Minister Imran Khan and mid-term elections with the opposition parties. It said that the top leadership of JUI-F may be detained if the talks fail.

Interior ministry plan

The interior ministry has chalked out a strategy to deal with the protestors if the opposition parties refuse to negotiate with the government team or the talks fail.

The Lahore and Peshawar motorways and GT Road will be closed from October 31. The Federal government, the local administration and other the law enforcement agencies have prepared lists of the activists of the JUI-F and other political parties.

Earlier, the JUI-F plans to march on Islamabad on October 31 with the backing of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and other opposition parties, demanding the resignation of the prime minister and fresh elections.

Azadi March: JUI-F cancels meeting with govt delegations

The JUI-F has canceled meeting with government delegations that was due to be held yesterday. The party representative has said that Rahbar Committee of the opposition will take final decision regarding negotiation with the government.

Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjarani also telephoned Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri and decided to meet today for detailed discussion on anti-government march.
