Balochistan CM presents Rs289 billion budget
QUETTA (92 News) – Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri has presented provincial budget over Rs 289 billion for the fiscal year 2016-17.
Presenting the budget in the provincial assembly in Quetta on Sunday evening, he said deficit of the budget has been estimated approximately Rs 36 billion.
The Chief Minister said that revenues worth more than Rs 252 billion would be collected during the new financial year.
He further said that amount worth Rs 218 billion has been allocated for non-development expenditures, in the budget while over Rs 71 billion allocated for development projects.
The chief minister further said that outstanding students would be provided laptops and for this purpose Rs 50 million, have been allocated in the budget.
Similarly, he said Rs 5 billion have also been allocated for developmental schemes to be completed under the supervision of local bodies councils across the province.
Sanaullah Zehri said that government has decided to allocate Rs 10 billion for provision of clean drinking water to Quetta city under the Pat Feeder canal project to be completed at a total cost of Rs 40 billion.
A handsome amount of Rs 7.4 billion have been allocated for overall betterment of agricultural sector in the new budget.
Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri during his budget speech announced ten percent increase in the salaries of employees of provincial government on the pattern of federal government.
