Balochistan CM Sanaullah Zehri resigns to avoid no-confidence move
ISLAMABAD (92 News) –Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri resigned to avoid a no-confidence move against him on Tuesday.
The no-confidence move was to be tabled, which was withdrawn after his resignation.
Sources said that Balochistan governor has accepted the resignation of Sanaullah Zehri.
In the resignation, Sanaullah Zehri has said that he is tendering his resignation under section 8 of Article 130.
He said that he will continue to serve if the people think it suitable. “It seems that as lot of MPAs are not satisfied with my leadership. I do not want to be imposed on my colleagues. It is not my nature to stick to the power,” he said.
Before the resignation, Zehri held meetings with BNP chief Mahmood Achakzai and the Balochistan governor.
After his resignation, estranged MPAs distributed sweets.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had advised Sanaullah Zehri to resign.
Reacting to the resignation, Sarfraz Bugti said that Sanaullah Zehri had done a good job by tendering his resignation. “A new government will be formed after a few days. It is not mandatory that the new chief minister will be from the PML-N. The JUI could also join the government,” he said.
Maulana Abdul Wasay said that the ministers’ corruption forced their people to rebellion.
