Batman creator given posthumous Walk of Fame star
LOS ANGELES – Batman has been an enduring superhero over the past decades, and now Hollywood has celebrated his late creator, Bob Kane, with a star on the Walk of Fame three days shy of what would have been his 100th birthday.
The event also coincided with the news that Batman is now in the Guinness World Records for having the most film adaptations – the latest of which is ‘Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice’ by 300 director Zack Snyder.
Director Zack Snyder, says: “Batman, unlike Superman or Wonder Woman or Flash is a guy without powers, he’s a man, right? He’s all of us, you know, and I think that’s it. So in truth, we’re all the Batman. so thank you guys, thank you Bob.”
Also at the event were Jim Lee, the DC comics co-publisher, as well as a special appearance by the new movie’s Batmobile. The trials and tribulations of Batman, which were first written about by Kane back in 1939, continue when ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ hits cinemas in North America on March 25. –Reuters
