ISLAMABAD (92 News) – PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has said that Benazir Bhutto had agreed to the NRO because it included electoral reforms.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, he said that they could have not allowed the PML-N to form the government in Punjab.

“If we did so, we would have not been able to oust former president Pervez Musharrraf,” he said.

The former president said that the PPP leaders had always tried to curb corruption. “The next parliament will make amendment to Articles 62 and 63,” he added.

He said that Benazir Bhutto was ousted twice, but she did not take out rallies.

Asif Zardari also called for strengthening the parliament.
