Bhikki power plant will help overcome energy crisis: PM
SHEIKHUPURA (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has on Wednesday said that reviewed the pace of work of the under-completion of 1180-MW LNG-fueled power plant in Bhikki.
Addressing the ceremony in Bhikki, he appreciated the savings achieved in completion of the project.
The prime minister also lauded the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the Chinese team of engineers and other concerned people working on the project.
He said that 84 percent work on Bhikki power plant has been completed, adding that transparency is being ensured in mega power projects.
Nawaz Sharif said that power outages will end next year, adding that Bhikki power plant will help overcome energy crisis.
“Thar coal will bring the energy cost down,” the premier added.
The prime minister went on to say that several new power projects are in final stages, which after completion will solve the energy shortage issue in the country.
He said: “No other government in the past bothered to work on motorways. However, the present government is now working on Lahore Karachi Motorway speedily.”
