Bid to sentence Morsi to death not good for Egypt, says Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has said that the sentencing of deposed Egyptian President Morsi to death bodes ill for the Egyptian people and for Egyptian democracy.
In a tweet form his official account on Sunday, Khan said that the “Pakistani nation and Pakistan’s democracy continue to suffer the aftermath of civilian leader Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s (ZAB) hanging by a military dictator”.
An Egyptian court sentenced deposed Islamist president Mohamed Morsi and more than 100 other defendants to death over jail breaks during the 2011 uprising. Morsi was in a caged dock when the judge read out his verdict.
