Both accused of woman gang-rape case identified

LAHORE (92 News) – The police identified both accused of the woman gang-rape case after their DNAs matched with the victim on Saturday. The main accused was identified as Abid Ali and other was Waqarul Hassan. Raids are being conducted to arrest the accused. Abid Ali is a resident of Fort Abbas, Bahawalnagar. He was also involved in the gang-rape of a woman and her daughter in 2013. Under pressure of locals, Abid Ali and his family left the area. Meanwhile, Punjab Government's investigation committee has presented the preliminary report to Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar. The committee chief said that a big breakthrough would appear in next few hours. "We are also in contact with the family of the victim," they added. Meanwhile, Provincial Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan said that the woman gang-rape case would reach its logical conclusion in a few hours. He said that the Home Ministry, police and all relevant departments, including forensic science agency, are investigating into the matter. The minister said that the beast-like accused will soon be brought to justice. On the other hand, Prosecutor Mohsin Bhatti was changed for not cooperating in the case. Muhammad Shabbir has been appointed as attorney in his place.
