Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif terms budget historic
LAHORE (92 News) – Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has termed the budget historic.
Commenting on the budget, he said that the people and farmers friendly budget will usher in an era of progress and prosperity in the province.
He said that the volume of the annual development program was Rs550 billion, which was 37.5 percent more than the previous budget.
The chief minister said that an amount of Rs 100 million had been earmarked for progress of the province.
“Record funds have been allocated for education, health, clean drinking water and social sector,” he said, adding that they would complete the projects under the Annual Development Program to improve the standard of life of the people.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the budget will be a source of alleviating poverty and reducing a gap between the poor and the rich.
He said that their top priority had been improvement in the living standard of the people of Southern Punjab.
The chief minister said that the Metro Bus System had changed the transport culture.
