China January-October investment growth cools to 10.2 percent year-on-year, meeting forecasts

BEIJING – China’s fixed-asset investment growth eased to 10.2 percent year-on-year in the January-October period, meeting market expectations.

Analysts polled by Reuters predicted investment growth would come in at 10.2 percent, compared with 10.3 percent posted the prior month.

Industrial output growth cooled to 5.6 percent in October, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday, disappointing analysts who expected it to rise 5.8 percent on an annual basis after an increase of 5.7 percent the prior month.

Retail sales quickened to 11 percent.


Analysts forecast they would rise 10.9 percent on an annual basis after a rise of 10.9 percent the prior month. -Reuters
