A bench headed by the chief justice heard a case relating to the construction of Orange Line Train. During the hearing, the chief justice expressed anger on the substandard construction of Orange Line project. He also remarked that the project was constructed with poor quality of work.
The top judge said that the team constituted by the court relating to project was not cooperated properly. CJ Nisar remarked that the government cannot construct the Orange Line project timely because these matters are not under-control them.
However, the chief justice summoned the Punjab chief minister in the court, saying that the chief minister should appear before court at 4pm through using his plane.
“It seems that the obstacles of project will have to be removed by the court and Minister for Finance will also be summoned regarding this matter,” CJP said.
Orange Train project in charge Sabteen Ali informed the court that he will resign from his position on September 5 and the National Accountability Bureau has all the details of him and his family. He also said that he does not want to become accused.
