LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the future generations will not forgive us if the decades-old ‘thaana culture’ is not changed.

He expressed these views while addressing the passing out parade of police officers at Sihala Police College in Islamabad today.

He said that thana culture will be changed to ensure justice at the grass roots level. “The process to change the thana culture has already been started with induction of police officers in the department on merit,” he said.

Lauding the innumerable sacrifices rendered by the police officials in the war on terror, the Punjab Chief Minister said these will not go in vain and time will come when the country will be completely purged of the curse of terrorism.

He said the operation Zarb-e-Azb has caused a major blow to the terrorists. Besides the operation against terrorists, he said social and economic justice will be ensured in the society to address the root causes of terrorism.

On the occasion, the Punjab Chief Minister announced an amount of 25,00,000 Rs for those who imparted training to the newly inducted police officers.
