COAS condemns Quetta church attack

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has on Sunday strongly condemned the Quetta church attack which left nine people dead and dozens others injured.

In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS said that targeting our brotherly Christian Pakistanis was an attempt to cloud Christmas celebrations and create religious cleavages.

The statement further said that effective response by Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) was commendable and the nation stays united and steadfast to respond against such heinous attempts.

On the other hand, Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa arrived at the Civil Hospital in Quetta.

The Commander was accompanied by Frontier Corps Inspector General Major General Nadeem Anjum and other officials.


Lt Gen Saleem Bajwa and Major Gen Anjum visited the hospital’s trauma centre and met with the victims of the attack.
