COAS confirms death to 13 hard core terrorists

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif confirmed death sentence awarded to another 13 hard core terrorists who were involved in heinous offences relating to terrorism, including killing of foreign tourists at Nanga Parbat, attack on Saidu Sharif Airport, destruction of schools, attacks on Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies and civilians.

These convicts were tried by military courts. Following is the detail of each case.


  1. Irfanullah S/O Khudayar. The convict was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was involved in killing of 10 foreign tourists near Nanga Parbat Base Camp. He was also in possession of firearms. He admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on three charges and awarded death sentence.
  2. Mushtaq Ahmed S/O Muhammad Miraj. The convict was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was involved in attacking Saidu Sharif Airport, killing employees of Metrological Department and destruction of an educational institution which resulted in the death of civilians and injuries to soldiers. He was also in possession of firearms and explosives. He admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on six charges and awarded death sentence.
  3. Muhammad Nawaz S/O Gul Muhammad. The convict was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was involved in attacking Armed Forces which resulted in the death of soldiers. He was also in possession of firearms and explosives. The convict admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on three charges and awarded death sentence.
  4. Taj Gul S/O Sultan Zareen. The convict was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was involved in attacking law enforcement agencies, which resulted in death of police constables and levies personnel. He was also in possession of firearms, ammunition and explosives. He admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on four charges and awarded death sentence.
  5. Convicts Asghar Khan S/O Aziz Ur Rehman, Ahmed Ali S/O Bakhat Karam and Haroonur Rasheed S/O Mian Said Usman were active members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. They were involved in attacking Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies and destruction of an educational institution which resulted in death and injuries to soldiers and civilian. They were also in possession of firearms and explosives. The convicts admitted their offences before the magistrate and the trial court. Convict No. 1 was tried on six charges whereas convict No. 2 and 3 were tried on seven charges. All have been awarded death sentence.
  6. Bakht-e-Ameer S/O Ameer Zareen. The convict was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was involved in attacking Armed Forces which resulted in death and injuries to officers and soldiers. He was also in possession of explosives. The convict admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on three charges and awarded death sentence.
  7. Aziz Khan S/O Ashber. The convict was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was involved in attacking Armed Forces and destruction of communication system in Gulibagh which caused death and injuries to soldiers. He was also in possession of a suicide jacket. The convict admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on three charges and awarded death sentence.
  8. Fazal-e-Ghaffar S/O Shehzada. The convict was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was involved in attacking Armed Forces which caused death and injuries to soldiers. He was also in possession of a suicide jacket. The convict admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on four charges and awarded death sentence.
  9. Asghar Khan S/O Ahmad Jan. The convict was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was involved in attacking Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies and destruction of educational institutions which caused death and injuries to soldiers and civilians. He was tried on five charges and awarded death sentence.
  10. Ikramullah S/O Habibullah. The convict was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was involved in attacking Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies which caused death and injuries to officers, soldiers and civilians as well as damage to helicopters. He was also in possession of explosives. The convict admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was tried on four charges and awarded death sentence.
  11. Haider S/O Daim Khan. The convict was involved in killing civilians in Quetta. He was also in possession of firearms and explosives. The convict admitted his offences before the trial court. He was tried on five charges and awarded death sentence.
