COAS congratulates Peshawar Zalmi on winning PSL trophy

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Peshawar Zalmi met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ on Saturday.

The COAS congratulated the team and management on their performance and success in the PSL final.

He appreciated efforts by PSL, all teams and the management for bringing back cricket to Pakistan. He specially thanked foreign players and guests who came to Pakistan.

The COAS said that Pakistan is a peace loving country. “Cricket is the most favourite game in Pakistan and a binding force for the nation.”

He advised players to continue excelling and bringing a good name to Pakistan. The visiting players and management thanked the COAS for the support. They were pleasantly surprised to know COAS’ attachment with cricket, his cricketing expertise and knowledge about cricket records.

They also thanked him for his tips and advice.


The players assured the COAS that they are soldiers of Pakistan and stand with Pak Army in promoting peace and national harmony. The team acknowledged great sacrifices by Pakistan Army for bringing peace and stability in the country.

Meanwhile, COAS Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Headquarters of Special Security Division (SSD) responsible for security of Chinese on CPEC and non CPEC projects.

The COAS was given a detailed briefing on Integrated Security Mechanism led by the Special Security Division.

He reiterated Pak Army’s commitment to ensure security for CPEC and the work force involved. “We attach to the value to Chinese help and assistance extended in making these projects a success. The Pak Army is fully aware of hostile agenda against CPEC,” he maintained.

The COAS vowed that the security forces are fully prepared to defeat their design. He appreciated SSD for their state of preparedness and arrangements for execution of the assigned mission and tasks.

Earlier on arrival, COAS was received by GOC SSD Major General Abid Rafique. Chief of Gen Staff Lt Gen Bilal Akbar was also present.
