COAS Gen Raheel Sharif orders probe into death of MQM worker
RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has on Wednesday directed to hold an inquiry to find out truth in the case of Aftab Ahmed, who died in Karachi yesterday.
In a statement released by the ISPR, COAS Gen Raheel Sharif instructed to ensure that justice must be done.
Aftab Hussain, Coordinator of MQM’s Farooq Sattar had expired yesterday of alleged cardiac arrest.
The deceased political worker was taken in rangers custody for two days, while Rangers had acquired remand of Aftab Hussain.
Meanwhile, Director General Rangers Sindh has ordered investigation into the killing of Aftab Ahmed.
A Rangers spokesperson said that a committee has been constituted to probe the matter. Rangers’ sector commander will head the investigation committee.
The spokesperson said that the personnel who were allegedly involved have been suspended.
