COAS General Raheel Sharif orders all out steps to make CPEC a success
RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif visited Headquarters of the newly raised Special Security Division (SSD) for security of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The COAS was given a detailed briefing on the progress of raising the force and wide ranging security aspects of the CPEC.
General Raheel Sharif reiterated Pak Army’s commitment to provide security for the CPEC and the workforce involved, terming it to be a game changer for Pakistan which has the potential to transform the lives of people of the country. The COAS emphasized the need to ensure a peaceful environment to be able to push all the planned developmental projects.
“We are totally aware of all campaigns against the CPEC,” he said, saying that the security forces are ready to pay any price to turn this long cherished dream into reality.
He instructed that all possible measures must be taken in coordination with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to make the CPEC a success and beneficial for all and sundry.
On his arrival, the COAS was received by Lieutenant General Malik Zafar Iqbal and SSD Commander Major General Abid Rafique.
